However as a by product of this activity we also sell in the centre,maps, cards, and prints with an emphasis on local history.

Joan Hillerby
My passion for colour and design has led me to create a unique range of artistically designed work.
I create vibrant hand made textiles, incorporating recycled materials including vintage fabrics and buttons into my designs. My work includes amongst others; handbags, purses, brooches, tote bags, felt jewellery and stitched canvases depicting the cottages of Staithes.
My work is available for purchase at Staithes Arts and Crafts, Cloud Cuckoo, Yarm and The Crafthouse Gallery, Coldstream in the Scottish Borders. I also do commissions on request; please call Joan Hillerby for details.

Bridget Wilkinson is an Artist and Driftwood Sculptor based in the small fishing town of Whitby on the North East Coast of England
On offer at Staithes Arts and Craft Centre is an exciting collection of art, gifts and home accessories.
Being surrounded by such varied and stunning landscapes and her love for the beaches and beachcombing has inspired and also provided her with the ideas and materials to produce many of these pieces. Phillippa Joad. Wheeldale Woolcrafts. Phillippa is a textile artist based in rural North Yorkshire. Taking inspiration from the North York Moors where she grew up and a love of vintage chic and creating homewares, accessories, clothes and gifts. Hello my name is Cindy Alderslade, I was taught to knit stitch & stick by my dear Aunt on winter afternoons in my youth beside a blazing coal fire, a passion that never left me and which I developed into a thriving craft business.

Eliza Conway, Textiles. A range of hand made items, mostly from wool, to use in the home for pleasure, play and decoration. Rag rugs (proddy and hooked) (commisions welcome), woven rugs, cushions, knitted toys (cats, rabbits, pigs, polar bears, fish (at 50p) and dogs), handmade wooden buttons, jars of vintage buttons and a selection of large odd buttons.
